Stewart Gill paints were originally created in 1998 by husband & wife team Grant Stuart & Rebecca Gill in order to have the very best colouration products for their professional textile commissions: (Grant; a couture fashion & costume designer. Rebecca; a textile artist). After creating the paints for ourselves, demand flowed in from other interested textile artists, and paint production increased until there was no time left to produce garments!

These days, they still make the paints to exactly the same recipes, lovingly hand-produced in Scotland in small batches.
